    Guide dog mum Sylvia has given birth to Guide Dogs’ first litter of the year. The eight yellow Labrador puppies, five boys and three girls, born on 5 January in Leamington Spa, are now three weeks old and beginning to explore their surroundings after opening their eyes for the first time.

    The festive season brought us not one but two very special litters. On Christmas Day, guide dog mum Kim delivered seven guide dog puppies. And then, joining us on the 6th January, guide dog mum Sylvia had the first litter of 2023.

    Guide dog owner Ben Good, from Fareham in Hampshire, has been awarded an MBE for services to people with vision impairment. Ben was awarded his MBE by His Majesty King Charles III, but the real star of the show was guide dog Stamp, who not only accompanied Ben to receive his award but licked King Charles’ hand!

    According to new research from Guide Dogs, British dog owners are estimated to spend more than £1.3 billion on gifts for their dog this Christmas. More than half, however, admit to being worried about the cost of presents this year, yet ultimately expect to spend an average of £101 on gifts for their dogs.
